Betsy has one of the canine-world’s most sought-after jobs – chief Wine Dog at Magill Estate. Here she is pictured outside Penfolds’ iconic winery where the architecture is as distinctive as the great wines that have been produced there. There is much to love about this winery and it’s wonderful, rich history and Betsy couldn’t agree more as she roams the gardens and the 100 year-old vines.
Only 15 minutes from Adelaides CBD, the Penfolds Magill Estate Cellar Door is nestled in the foothills of Adelaide. The winery exudes the charm and character of its founders, whose pioneering spirit brought their family name into the homes of the Australian people more than 150 years ago and inspired the creation of Australia’s greatest wine, Penfolds Grange, in the 1950s.
Penfolds has since grown into Australia’s most famous wine and its home, Magill Estate, has evolved into a truly unique venue.
This place has everything you could want – a famous winery, amazing wine and a sensational restaurant … and much to Betsy’s relief – not a piece of broccoli to be found. Yes, being a Penfolds’ dog can be a pretty cosy job.
