The dogs of wine

Now here’s a book with a difference: Wine Dogs of Australian Wineries (McGill Elliott) is a 144-page book full of fine colour pictures of more than 100 dogs, some with their owners and all with an entertaining and often amusing caption. Dogs are resident at many wineries and this unique, beautifully presented, cloth-bound book pays tribute to the winemakers best friend. Eighty-five wineries took part.

I penned the intro and winemakers, Rob O’Callaghan (Rockford) and Chester Osborn (d’Arenberg) also contributed words. You can buy it in the cellar doors of participating wineries (including Tower Estate, Brokenwood, Allandale, Abercorn, Tyrrell’s, DeBortoli and Nugan Estate); selected wine stores and bookstores.
